Argh, I'm becoming worse and worse at keeping up with this blog. I know that I will regret it one day, but it is getting harder and harder to post, with less photos and not much to report on except for the kids' health and therapies, which I probably shouldn't be putting all over the internet. I'm seriously thinking about letting this blog go, which makes me sad, but will also be a relief. I'm worried about the kids' privacy as they get older...plus, it's got to end some time, right?
Anyway, we have had an up and down couple of weeks. I turned 51 (OMG!). My birthday was a little bit of a disaster, with too many appointments the same day, and not a huge amount of spoilage of myself. I made up for it on the following Saturday where I got spoiled rotten. I had a float in a float tank, which I absolutely love, and I have a belated massage booked in for tomorrow. Jeff and I went down to Brisbane for a dinner and comedy show, thanks to my brother Jay, a couple of days after my birthday, so that was special too.
Carmie's health has been crap. She has been suffering bouts of hives, as well as her typical nausea. I've done a two week food and nausea diary, and can't seem to find any connections. The good news is that she has had her heart checked by a cardiologist, and she has a healthy heart. We have an appointment with an immunologist on October 30, so hopefully will be able to get some answers soon. She has had to miss quite a lot of D&D, which means she really isn't feeling well at all.
Arley is no longer playing with the neighbourhood kids, but he doesn't seem too bothered. It is a welcome relief to me not having all those scavengers in the house. LOL. Arley's sleep has been horrible. He has been waking up during the night and can't get back to sleep without having a snack, so he is up for a few hours every night, then makes up for it by sleeping a few hours during the day. We just had a paediatrician appointment this morning, and our first order of business is to get his sleep fixed, so tonight he will be starting on a low dose of Carmie's sleep meds. Boy was he cross at the appointment this morning. Our paed got a good look at what we deal with daily!
I'm sure there are things that I have missed. Life keeps chugging along - therapies, doctor appointments, activities, family time, and I'm actually managing to get some painting done too :)
