Carmen is driving me crazy - she was put to bed an hour ago, and she is still calling out. She just pulled the old "I have to do a poo" trick, so I had to get her out of bed, and I sat her on the toilet by herself for a full fifteen minutes, and guess what - nothing. I told her I was very, very cross, and in her sweetest voice she said, "But don't be cross, Mummy. Be happy." Now she is singing about Arley the Little Man. Cute, but she needs to be asleep!
We have had a great week, with play dates, and the Milton Show (or the carnival, as Carmie calls it), and a visit to "Ice Cream Land" (this is Carmie's new name for the local shop which happens to sell ice cream). Arley turned 8 months, and is still a fantastic, easy baby; sleeping well, eating well, not fussing very much. He had a play date with his friend Daisy (who is only 7 hours older than him). He is getting to be in need of a hair cut, and he has to wear knee pads, because he is crawling fast and furiously these days. For the first time ever Carmen was excited to go to school on Thursday, she had a great day with no upsets, and then came home and didn't throw any tantrums. Maybe we have turned a corner! The Milton Show was lots of fun. We ran into lots of Carmen's friends there, and Carmie went on all of the rides she could (no fear!), and my mum won knitting champion :) All in all, a busy and fun week.
