This week began with a trip to the pirate ship park, a surprise morning tea with Dad for Arley, and lots of family play time, and ended with the kids' birthday. Carmie was very excited all week for her big day, but poor Arley came down with the flu that Carmie has just gotten over. He seems to be on the mend now (thank goodness, it's their party tomorrow), but he spent his birthday taking Panadol, with a horrible hacking cough. He didn't understand that it was his birthday, even though apparently Carmie woke him 'in the middle of the night' (probably morning) to tell him. Carmie went off to school with plates of cupcakes to share with her friends, and Arley stayed home and rested. In the evening their grandparents, Lolo and Dida, came over for pizza and cake and presents. Carmen insists that her arms and legs are longer, that she can run faster and jump higher than before. And she was SO excited when she saw all of their presents, it was like Christmas. All in all, a good day - for Carmie at least!
Here is a super cute video of Arley saying "I love you too". It is very sweet, I just wish I could catch him saying it to one of his trains. Today he was sitting on my lap, holding his new green train, and he said, "I love you geen tain" as he held it adoringly. He really does love his trains!
