This week we have had such amazing weather, except for one exceptionally windy day. We made the most of the sunshine, and took the kids to the pirate ship park, to the inlet at Dolphin Point, and to the duck park at Burrill. We have started heading to the park totally set up with picnic blanket, lunch, books to read, pillows, cars to play with, frisbee etc. It makes all the difference! Our average park stay this week was three hours! Such a nice way to spend the morning. We also set up the kids' crocodile slide and had our little neighbour over for a play. The kids ate ice-cream cones (three times - oops!), painted, baked, played train tracks and magnatiles, and today we took them down to the Gaia markets that were going on, with lots of ArtFest activities. I had entered an artwork into the Shoalhaven Open Art Prize, and it was announce at the markets that I won the prize for best drawing (yay, go me!). The kids played with the ribbons, hoops and spinning plates set up by circus school, and we had to drag them home to get them fed in time for a late bedtime. Also this week I sold two of my new landscapes from the gallery. Woot!
As far as the kids go, Arley's behaviour is the same old story. We are still working on it. He had a couple of good days, but today was bad again. It seems to all evolve around getting him off to school, and then being tired and overwrought when he gets home from school. And as for Carmie, she threw me for a loop one day too. I won't go into it, as it really was so bad that I don't want to remember it, and it was in public too. She has apologised profusely, and I'm pretty sure she won't do it again, but it wasn't good!
