It was Father's Day on Sunday. We had a quiet day at home, and we invited Lolo and Dida over for afternoon tea. The kids made their dad some cards and I gave him a gift voucher for a massage. The kids insisted that Dida's present should be a cake, so we made a cake and the kids thoroughly enjoyed eating it. It was a pretty mellow day.
Arley levelled up in swimming this week. He was pulling the same stunt as last week, saying he was too shy to go in the pool, but when he was told he was levelling up, he jumped right in. His behaviour was mostly good this week, with a few really bad days, but also some really lovely calm moments too. The calm moments certainly bring me hope. Carmie has been great as always, but sometimes she likes to ramp up her energy which always sets her brother off. She has been getting into Lego this week, so our lounge room has become 'the Lego station' and looks like disaster has struck. It's been keeping her engaged, so worth the mess. Arley has been playing with Orbeez balls in water all week, putting little plastic animals and people in the container with the balls, to drown them! Sometimes he even rescues them.
Even though it has been a fairly easy week, I feel utterly exhausted right now. It's all the running around from playgroup to Japanese, Scouts, and swimming etc etc. Also, I got my birthday present early this year - a scooter, so I have been scooting around with the kids. It's hard work! And I've been working until 11pm every night. But it's so worth it, because I get to spend time with my little guys every day :)
