My sister Georgia and nephew Zach flew up here from Bowral this week. They were here from Sunday through Wednesday, to have a look at the University of the Sunshine Coast, because Zach wants to go there next year. We are only five minutes from the university, so we will be here to help Zach along. It was great to have family up here. We had them over for dinner twice, and went out to a restaurant another night. On their last night we had game night, and it was good fun. We surprised the kids with their arrival, and that is always funny to see the surprised looks on their faces. The next surprise will be Lolo and Dida, in January.
The weather has been hot again, until yesterday. Today, the first day of summer, is quite cold, rainy and blustery. We did get in some pool swims this week, and the kids made it to horse riding, and both did so well. Carmie had a double lesson on Dude, and Arley was very intent on connecting with his horse Dakota.
Because Arley got through his blood test last week, Mr Kelly gave Arley a sword demonstration, as well as a nunchuk demo. It was pretty cool, and Arley was stoked. Then on Wednesday, Clint took Arley fishing, as promised. He finally caught a fish! Three, in fact. He just loved it, and now we are organising for Clint to rent a boat and take Arley out for longer.
On Monday the kids' support workers took them to Wildlife HQ, another zoo here, and they both had a good time. Carmie forgot to take her sleeping meds on Tuesday night, so she had a shocker of a night's sleep and wasn't very active on Wednesday. She managed to get through her creative writing class though. Carmie has to do physio exercises every day, and so far, she doesn't have a good track record.
This week Mr Kelly awarded me with my green belt in Taekwon Do. He has wanted to give it to me for a while, but Carmie didn't want me at a different level to her. She finally conceded, so now the green belt is mine! I'm stoked :)
